There are those who believe the authorities should prohibit people from doing extreme and dangerous sports; whereas，others feel citizens should have the right to determine their own interests and sports in which they participate. This essay shall explore both viewpoints; however，in my opinion，people should absolutely have the right to do dangerous sports，albeit，with some constraints.
One of the main reasons for people suggesting the government should ban extreme sports is that these sports exact a toll on society. This price society must pay for these individuals who take risks，is incurred through not just many of these individuals being hurt，but also through their families being traumatized，if they actually do become injured or worse，die. Likewise，since risk-takers tend to be dynamic individuals，injury or death through extreme sports also deprives society of their talents that would much better be served by such individuals participating in fun yet safe activities，allowing them in the future to serve not only themselves，but also the greater good.
Ultimately though，participating in any activity should be up to the individual as long as the person is not causing harm to another. In other words，what people do and the activities they participate in should be considered the sole domain of the individual.
